I'm not sure I get the point. Is it perhaps, yes we're leaving Iraq, don't make us come back, lest you want one of these firmly planted up your ***???
This is a cri de coeur from a sophisticated cartoonist bewailing the fact that the Christian Boot is planted firmly on the Daar al Islam- Next week he plans to draw a sickle moon exploding over New York City, again trusting in his skills of draughtmanship to render a caption surplus to requirements; and again tragically misplacing his trust.
I think he may have been driving at a couple points here... if I could be so bold to presume:
1) the dateline indicates this was created in the wake of the shoe-throwing incident. So maybe there's something to do with that.
2) the Old Lady in a Shoe might have something to do with the crumbling of Western Civilization - although, maybe not
3) the Cross atop is merely meant to be offensive. Or maybe not.
I dunno.
May be it's just content for content's sake.
