Mark Mardell, the Beebs TV Euro correspondent, lifts his nose from the trough long enough to posit a novel suggestion for future missing-and-exploited children enquiries: let Europe do it for us! I commented as follows to his post, which I repeat here as I doubt it will pass through his filter:
There is far too much cod science, criminology, sociology, anyotherbloodyology, computerised analysis, profiling and line management involved in these type of enquiries these days. It slows everything down. The last thing we need is Eureaucracy poking its nose into our basic policing, too. We know you've landed a soft number over there, Mark. Be happy, mind your own business and continue to scoff and quaff your inflated exes. Stick to politics. This case should have been solved within a day or two by intuitive local coppering. It was a no-brainer. But too many cooks ...
A good case officer with the help of the local collator and a laser eye that cuts through the dross and bullshit would have spotted the family perpetrator from a mile off (the exact distance in fact) and been round to his gaff with a ladder and a crowbar, pronto. Jesus wept! I thought I'd seen everything after what emerged in the latter stages of the Levi Bellfield fiasco. This one takes the cake. Trouble is, all the top cops are Bramshill butterflies these days - hawking their textbooks from county to county on accelerated promotion. No experience all class-room exercises, PR bullshit and scary political liaisons. We no longer have a have police force in this country, it's a State sinecure for Gramscian counter-culture mechanics. Just imagine muddying the waters even further with the bureaucratic bullshit of Brussels; they have a great record over paedophilia crimes, don't they?

NuLaberk Rally
I just watched on TV the potato-headed Broon at the NuLaberk Rally. Then I read the Times online piece about Sheik Omar Bakri Mohammad's thinly veiled remarks in the Lebanon inciting jihadists to whack Prince Harry when he gets home. Why bother to quote a foreign demagogue? George Galloway said more or less the same thing on Question Time on Thursday. There's a war on and we're publishing/broadcasting the propaganda of both the enemy and the enemy within. That is what Great Britain is now reduced to. At least the Queen's grandson is prepared to do something about it ... when they will allow him to, that is. I think if HM were 30 years younger she would don her FSMO and board the Royal Flight to Afghanistan herself (if she still had a Royal Flight, that is).
Cry 'God for Harry, England and St George!'
But what does the government actually do? Today the little usurper of the Parliament of Mother-s addresses the NuLab rabble with more platitudes than even his predecessor could muster and makes another raft of megalomaniac and ludicrous promises to 'save' the world: actually it was an attempt to save his own arse. The glint in his good eye (or perhaps that was the glass one) was maniacal! Let's hope the groundlings have learned from bitter experience and act accordingly at the next election. But don't bank on it!
